Jurong West 505 stall serving Hainanese curry rice with pork chop, cutlet, and fried egg from $5.50.
Singtaste Hainanese Scissors Curry Rice is a popular stall at Jurong West 505 Market & Food Centre that specialises in the uniquely Singaporean dish of scissors-cut curry rice. Using traditional kitchen shears to portion out ingredients, the stall assembles generous plates featuring a variety of sides draped in thick, flavourful curry gravy. A typical order might include pork chop, chicken cutlet, braised potato, and a fried egg perched atop a bed of steamed rice, all for around $5.50. The curry sauce here is the star of the show, delivering a likeable balance of savoury depth and gentle spiciness that coats every component on the plate. The pork chop and chicken cutlet are soft and meaty, while the potato absorbs the curry beautifully and the fried egg provides a rich, runny-yolk bonus. Try Singtaste Hainanese Scissors Curry Rice for a quintessential Singaporean hawker experience that combines comfort, value, and bold flavours in every messy, delicious plate. My chicken was raw

Absolutely worst curry rice I have ever eaten. Ordered takeaway and found a long disgusting strand of hair in my food. They make you full by giving so much rice but so little meat. Sibei kiamsiap. And the curry tasted so bland. Never going to buy from here again.

I have been a regular customer here for years and they never disappoint me. I don't even have to say a word and they already know my order. Even after an extended period of not ordering from here, when I came back, they still recognised me …

Decent neighbourhood Chinese rice stall and probably one of the cheapest around but the price is also reflected by its not so generous portion especially on the pork cutlet that I ordered. Still, a 4 dish+rice at $4.50 is always a good deal.
