Jurong is getting a major upgrade this summer. A brand-new IMAX cinema at JEM, a FIFA World Cup pop-up at Jurong Point, water sports at Jurong Lake Gardens, and ongoing mega sales across the west side's biggest malls.
Shaw Theatres JEM, NOW OPEN
Shaw returns to the West after JCube closed in 2023. 10 halls opened 27 June 2026:

- IMAX Hall, 5th IMAX for Shaw with advanced projection and sound

Adidas FIFA World Cup 2026 Pop-Up (Until 12 Jul)
Jurong Point hosts official Adidas World Cup activation with federation jerseys, exclusive merchandise, giant Trionda Ball installation, jersey customisation, and an adiClub photo booth. Live screenings of semi-finals and final at Frontier Community Club next door. Matching F&B promotions at participating outlets.
New Dining at Jurong Malls
- Lotteria, Korean burger chain opens July at Jurong Point JP2 #01-47. Second Singapore outlet. Bulgogi burgers, Gangjung chicken, exclusive merch.
- Paris Baguette, Korean bakery now open at JEM #02-20.

Jurong Lake District: First White Site Launched
URA launched a 3.72-hectare White site at Town Hall Link for tender (closes 17 Nov 2026). Up to 1,200 homes, 40,000 sqm office space, and 44,000 sqm retail/hotel/community uses. The Jurong Region Line arrives in 2028; Cross Island Line in 2032. JLD promises 100,000 new jobs and 20,000 new homes long-term.
Between Shaw's new IMAX, the World Cup pop-up at Jurong Point, guided walks at the Lake Gardens, and live bands every weekend at Westgate, the west side has plenty to keep you busy this summer.
